We really want to publish your work. Really. But if you don't send it to us, there's no way that can happen and then there will be tears all around. So send us something and keep all of our eyes dry. However, we are not a multi-media, international conglomerate. We can only pour our hearts and souls into so many projects and sometimes, we have to say no to amazing stories.
The fiction we want is unexpected, exciting and definitely non-traumatizing. We are looking for the stuff that falls off the map, fiction that's not quite sure where it belongs but totally knocks our socks off. We're not interested in straight-up genre fiction, but we love anything that squeezes a startled laugh from us. Like Nina Simone rocking the civil rights movement, we want fiction that has something to say, but says it while making us get up and dance our hearts out. Don't send us stories about anyone coming of age, growing up in a small town or communing with nature. We're not saying this stuff is bad, we just don't want to publish it. Other people do; send it to them. Here’s what we need.
